you only need to succeed the last time!
don't get discouraged, EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE
While listening to a audio recording one day before class, the speaker said something that I will never forget. "You only need to succeed the last the time, you can fail 999 times and succeed on the 1000th time and you've succeeded."
While it is very important and exciting that you have this new idea that you would like to share with the world. There will be bumps in the road, stalemates, idleness and distractions that will all come with your hot new idea. As a young adult myself I have worked several different jobs and I have had several different ideas that have failed, stalemated or I haven't put to work yet. And that is okay, many of you too have great ideas or have ideas and just don't know how to put it to work. It is your job, my job, our job to put these ideas to work to share them with the world. When you think about growing up becoming an adult how does that make you feel? Do you get nervous about it? Do you have a hard time even thinking about it? This is what we call fear. I want you to define what fear means to you, but instead of writing this in your canvas journal, I want you make a video to upload on your canvas. Again, I ask you, what does fear mean to you? Not what it means by the dictionary or the opinion of someone else, but what does fear mean to you?
Well known speaker Les Brown talks about fear in this video here, I want you to pay attention closely to what he says. When you are done listening to this video, compare your fears to his fears.

just embrace it
What did you catch from Les Brown? We will sum his talk up as "Just Embrace It" As you continue to discover 1. Who you are and 2. What you are good at, you will notice that over time your talents and interest change over a period of time. What you thought you were interested in may not in fact interest you as you get older. Do you want to know a secret? That is okay! As you began to looked through the key challenges, some of you may have not found something that interest you entirely from what was to offer, again, that is okay. But what is important is that you recognized from the 28 different opportunities to dive into you were not interested in them. So what are you interested in? Some of you will have a tough time answering that question. It is not a question that can be answered but also can change constantly.
Many of you have probably heard time and time again "the only thing that is constant is change," if you have not heard that now you have! This is a very true statement for many different reasons. One reason would be everything you do in a day will vary from what you did the day before or the day after. What I mean by this is that there are different situations that present themselves each day that was different from the other day.
Example: Yesterday you went to school but what you learned yesterday will not be the same as today. What you eat at lunch may not be the same or the conversations that you have with your friends. What if your guardian or bus took a different route to school because there was an accident on the road you normally.
Again there are so many different things that occur in your life each day that will differ from the next day. Watch this ted talk about staying off balance! When you are finished proceed below the video to continue!

Don Thurmon the speaker above discussed a lot of different things here, what did you think?
Tell me your thoughts about the video, what did you learn about being off balance?
What part stuck out to you the most?
What part are you willing to learn about yourself?
